Automotive cloud turns the car into an ultimate connected device

Seamless connectivity is the foundation of our digital lives – the Automotive Cloud extends this to software-defined vehicles. Our cloud ecosystem connects the Volkswagen Group's vehicles, markets and services via a central platform. This forms the basis for intelligent and updatable vehicles. With more than 45 million connected vehicles, we operate the world’s largest automotive cloud infrastructure.

The world's largest automotive cloud

We make sure that Volkswagen Group vehicles are more than just cars or vans, but an extension of their drivers’ digital lives. Connecting the car to the automotive cloud enables the continuous integration of new features and services. This takes mobility to new levels of innovation and personalization, offering everything from advanced navigation solutions and exciting infotainment experiences to safety-critical updates.

Our connectivity solutions transform individual cars into a swarm intelligence that makes mobility smarter and safer. At the core of this ecosystem is our data platform – a key enabler for all vehicle-related AI innovations. It is the foundation for vehicles to adapt, learn and grow in a constantly expanding ecosystem.

Connected Car Ecosystem

Connectivity
Enables real-time interaction between vehicles, users, infrastructure, and services (V2X), improving safety and optimizing traffic, while also enabling remote updates. Our connectivity unit connects the driver with the car and the car with the cloud backend.
Cloud Services
Deliver in-vehicle services, such as Remote Lock/Unlock, and over-the-air-updates, ensuring fast time-to-market and high reusability.
Connected Vehicle Services
Supports digital interaction with vehicle systems, for example via smartphone, with access to up to 80 mobile online services, including call services such as statutory emergency calls, eCall, call for help, climate control, or climate scheduling.
Data Platform
Unifies vehicle data across the Volkswagen Group within a single data ecosystem, supporting data-driven development, anomaly detection, and fleet analytics.
