Our recruiting process

Here’s a look at our recruiting process. Please note that while this is a general process, it may differ slightly for some positions, such as PhD candidates, students, and      management positions. For a detailed overview of the different processes, please contact careers@cariad.technology.

At CARIAD, we embrace digital solutions and flexibility. That’s why our interviews are always conducted digitally, allowing us to connect across locations. We also make sure that the process is flexible to fit your schedule and create the best possible experience for you.

1. Application

The first step is to find the right job for you! You can browse our open positions and filter by criteria such as location, career level, or field of activity to help you find the perfect match. Once you find a position that interests you, click on ‘Apply now’ and you’ll be taken to our job portal.

First, we need your contact details so we can get in touch with you. The best way to start is by creating a candidate profile with your personal information. Of course, you can edit or delete your profile at any time.

The second step is to upload your resume so we can start getting to know you. We also recommend that you include a cover letter and any other relevant certificates to support your application. You can submit documents in English or German. On your profile page, you can add documents later or replace them with updated versions. Conveniently, any new documents will automatically apply to all your applications.

Before submitting, you can review all the information you've provided and the documents you've uploaded. If you want to make any changes, simply click on the relevant step. You can also save your application as a draft and continue later. Otherwise, go ahead and submit your application.

Once you’ve applied for a position, you will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. If you haven’t received confirmation, please also check your spam folder. Our recruiting team will review your application and forward it to the relevant business unit. We’ll in touch with feedback as soon as possible.

2. Technical assessment

Depending on the position you are applying for, you may need to complete a technical assessment. This will help you better understand the requirements of the role, while allowing us to determine whether your skills and experience are a good match.

We will inform you by email if a technical assessment is required and provide further details. Depending on the role, the assessment will either be conducted by our partner Futurepath or as an online assessment.

3. Interviews

If your application and technical assessment are successful, you’ll be invited to a first interview with the respective department (Technical Interview). This interview gives you insights into the possible areas of responsibility and the future team. It also allows you to get to know the team structure, working methods, and tech stack used (including programming languages, frameworks, methods and tools). You will have the opportunity to meet the hiring manager, as well as experts from the team – in some cases even the whole team.

This is followed by an interview with our HR department (HR Interview). This interview is a chance for us to get to know you better as a person. You’ll be asked to introduce yourself and answer specific questions about your professional and personal development. This also includes your successes and failures, and how you have dealt with them. We want you to give us a deeper insight into your qualifications with concrete examples.

It's very important to us that your values and personality are a good fit for CARIAD. That's why we want to learn how you approach complex situations, your ideas about teamwork, and your ability to take responsibility. And of course, the same goes for us: we’ll gladly share what it's like to work at CARIAD and answer any questions you may have.

4. Contractual agreement

After the HR interview, you’ll receive feedback within 48 hours. If the feedback is positive, someone from our recruiting team will inform you about the contract details and the next steps.

If you aren’t successful this time but are still eager to work with us at CARIAD, please don’t give up! You’re welcome to try again, and there may well be another position that’s better suited to you and your skills.
