YOUR TEAM

This is a Principal level position as the Product Safety Lead position in the System Safety and Validation team. This role has two major objectives:

  • Coordination, execution and documentation of the safety management activities to meet the safety process requirements, tools and plans across several domain controllers for the Software Defined Vehicle
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for new and novel safety measures to connect across the multiple domains levels of system abstraction and step in to augment the safety management resources when required

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  •  Responsible for leading safety management activities for our internally and joint developed hardware and software components across the system level
  • Acts as single-point-of-contact for safety managers and system safety engineers for safety development in the SDV Hub
  • Manages the timelines, requirements, dependencies & logistics for delivered work products
  • Integrate and create tools to expedite or automate the speed at which architecture is generated and managed
  • Manages the team backlog to guarantee in-time delivery
  • Manage and deliver process definition to achieve quality and safety governance needs
  • Creation of safety relevant documentation, requirements and specifications and reports
  • Reports the status to CARIAD stakeholders & management
  • Leading contract engineers on documentation activities
  • Leading new project proposals to stakeholders (domestic and international)

WHO YOU ARE

  • Minimum ten years of Safety Engineering industry experience including at least 5 years of hands-on experience in development of safety concepts for highly complex systems including coordination of system level design to meet safety goals with considerations for scalable design and higher levels of automation
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related technical field
  • Deep knowledge, understanding and hands on experience in ISO26262 standard
  • Proven track record in delivering multiple automotive systems concurrently into successful production
  • Strong knowledge and experience in FMEDA, DFMEA, FMEA and failure analysis
  • ADAS safety architecture and requirements for L2++, L3, L4
  • Experience in Safety management, traceability, analysis and tracking tools
