We are building a highly connected software platform that enables deep integration of infotainment applications and innovative connected body functions to create a holistic vehicle experience for our customers. For our App Store team, we are looking for an experienced Android Developer who wants to develop the next generation App Store with us. Be curious about what we already have in our pocket and bring also your own ideas into life. Our team is responsible for developing the App Store for the whole VW Group.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Implement features in an agile development environment (JIRA, Confluence) based on newest tool chain (GitHub, GitHub Actions pipeline, Slack)
  • Support the creation of concepts and specifications (draw.io, confluence, PUML) related to our Android Automotive OS (AAOS) app store and associated 3rd party app solutions
  • Resolve problems, from simple bug fixes to architectural modifications in the code
  • Interact with developers to enhance Android Automotive evolution, including templates and OS features, and support partners in creating optimal in-car applications.
  • Discuss technical solutions with internal stakeholders and external partners - Support technical partner onboarding process
  • Create and support successful MVP and POC projects with external partners
  • Review code changes together with other experienced developers as well as associated experts for ASPICE compliant and take responsibility for the product we develop

WHO YOU ARE

  • Academic degree in computer science, computer engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Extensive experience in developing Android (Kotlin and Java) applications, with a profound understanding of Android’s architecture and native applications (in best case already with Android Automotive)
  • Excellent knowledge of modern agile software development including object-oriented development and agile principles
  • Experience in modelling of software architecture, Java (incl. RXJava), Kotlin (incl. Co-routines) and Jetpack Compose is prefered
  • Knowledge of Android embedded systems, automotive systems and infotainment systems is a plus
  • Passion for the future of Automotive
