YOUR TEAM

You will operate in the field of electric drivetrain and power electronic functions within the domain Vehicle Motion and Energy and be part of a highly motivated and interdisciplinary developer team, which is responsible for innovative functions of the electric drivetrain. Our deliverables contain the machine control, application software within the power electronics, cross-connected software for vehicle functionalities as well es the core functions to drive the ECU across the Volkswagen Group product portfolio. Thereby, we enable future innovations, best-in-class driving adventure and deliver a significant contribution to the overall driver experience.
You will be part of a dynamic, highly innovative and crossfunctional team covering the whole development process of electric drivetrain and power electronics functions with system design, in-house software development and test.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • End-2-end responsibility for the development of functions. This includes concept phase, specification, development, application, validation and approval as well as the product lifecycle after release
  • Develop control functions for electrical drive trains like torque-, current-, flux- and direct torque control; parameter identification for electrical machines and drivetrains; optimization for use in embedded systems (e.g. memory and runtime)
  • Focus on the customer-experience of the functionality and create specifications and algorithms starting from concept and prototype phase till volume production phase
  • As the designer of the function and the underlying functional architecture, you do the validation of algorithms in various environments (e.g. simulation, test benches, vehicles)
  • Management of development activities to achieve process goals: Automotive-SPICE, ISO 26262
  • Utilize your network to collaborate efficiently across teams, handle conflict situations with confidence and can identify those in advance as well as contribute to determining appropriate solutions

WHO YOU ARE

  • Successfully completed study in the field of computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, electrical machine control or a comparable course of studies
  • Expert in control theory and electrical motor control with knowledge about power electronics and in in drive train components as well as in car environments (mechanical, electrical and communication)
  • Good knowledge about model-based function development with MATLAB/Simulink and about auto coding tools and Software prototyping Systems (e.g. dSPACE TargetLink)
  • Experience with common measurement- and calibration tools such as CANape (Vector) or INCA (ETAS)
  • Moreover you are already practiced in the handling of application life cycle tools (e.g. SVN, Git, Jira, PTC, …)
  • Experience in working as part of agile teams on a solution based level; Scrum, SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), PI Planning, Continuous Integration/ Deployment are not just buzzwords for you
