(Senior) Technical Project Management Specialist - Connected Country Rollout (m/f/d)

At CARIAD, we're bundling and further expanding the Volkswagen Group's software expertise. We’re uniting over 6,500 global experts to build a scalable technology stack, including a software platform, unified electronic architecture and reliable connection to the automotive cloud. Our CARIDIANS are developing vehicle functions such as driver assistance systems, a next-generation infotainment platform, power electronics and charging technology, and digital services in and around the vehicle.

Our software can already be found in Volkswagen ID. models and will soon power Audi and Porsche vehicles with the E3 1.2 platform in 2024.

YOUR TEAM

CARIAD's Vehicle & Cloud Platform is driven by a vision to revolutionize cars into digital platforms. Our focus lies in developing software platforms for in-vehicle computers and control units, as well as for the cloud backend. This approach creates a seamless and unified software ecosystem. Positioned as a horizontal, end-to-end abstraction layer, our future software platform will have a profound impact on innovation speed, development efficiency, and complexity reduction. It serves as the core of Volkswagen's software-defined car strategy.

The Vehicle and Cloud Platform includes products like VW.OS, the next-generation in-vehicle software platform, and VW Automotive Cloud, a dedicated cloud platform for automotive online services. Additionally, it encompasses enabling technologies like data collection and management, software updateability, digital lifecycle management for all vehicle software, as well as connectivity solutions and mobile online services.

In this role, you will be part of the "Software Platform and Projects" team, responsible for overall project steering and ensuring the successful development and delivery of various Vehicle & Cloud platforms. You will closely align with strategic planning and enterprise portfolio management, providing oversight and remediation for any project challenges, while ensuring compliance with controls and standards. In our team we are looking for a good mix of experienced project managers and people who want to take the next step in their project management career.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Responsible as primary contact for delivery and integration of solution in the Regions or Markets
• Drive the solution alignment and development of the B2B/B2C product in close collaboration with stakeholders
• Be responsible for continuous improvements in all generations of B2B/B2C solutions
• Prepare, refine, and prioritize the backlog to deliver the product in time and quality
• Steer suppliers to ensure the deliverables match the expectation
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including cross-functional touchpoints to align and prioritize and to establish an integrated project view. Bridge the gap between agile and classic project world
• Ensure a standardized approach of project management in line with project delivery roadmap, encompassing the governance, alignment, assurance, integration, financial control and planning of multiple inter-related activities
• Responsible for accurate consolidated project reporting and seek executive guidance and approvals as necessary
• Understand technical chains of interaction and deal with risks and impediments in development process

WHO YOU ARE

• Successfully completed studies in the field of computer science, business informatics or comparable studies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German and English), including the ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT organization
• Proven track record of managing multiple, complex technical projects with plans that account for priorities, interdependencies, risks, and backup plans
• High levels of comprehension for complex matters and ability to structure and present to senior management
• Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
• Deep understanding of current and emerging processes and technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive business to be agile and transparent
• Fluent English and German language skills (oral and written)
