Innovation through diversity: CARIAD supports diversity and inclusion

At CARIAD, we are confident that diversity is a strength. By signing the Charta der Vielfalt and participating in the 9th German Diversity Day, we are making a firm statement and want to inspire others to do the same and promote diversity in the workplace.

At CARIAD, we see ourselves as one big community, bringing together people from over 70 nationalities and a variety of cultures and languages. It is this diversity that helps us bring forth even more innovation and progress as a community and fast-growing company. The different perspectives and viewpoints reward us in the development of software solutions, strengthen creativity and are essential for our path into the automotive sector’s tech future.

With the digital transformation of society and the economy, we are experiencing arguably one of the most profound changes since the dawn of industrialization. To take advantage of the vast number of opportunities that come with it, a wide range of talent is needed. CARIAD is still at the very beginning of its corporate development. Therefore, it is important to us to actively shape and promote diversity from the very beginning. Female technical and software talent is a particular focus for us.

Signing the Charta der Vielfalt and German Diversity Day

To set a precedent, CARIAD has signed the Charta der Vielfalt. By signing and implementing the Charta der Vielfalt, we as a company take it upon ourselves to create a climate of mutual respect and trust – today and in the future. The aim of the Charta der Vielfalt initiative, which was founded in 2006, is to promote the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in the world of work in Germany. In 2011, the initiative transitioned into an association that works to embed diversity in business and society. By participating in the now 9th German Diversity Day, we also reaffirmed our commitment to the signing of the Charta der Vielfalt.

Too often, inclusion and diversity are presented as commonplace or appear as an advertising claim. At CARIAD, we are aware that diversity and inclusion are far from being commonplace in our society. We want to change that – and set an example of how inclusive and diverse coexistence can be and how we all can benefit from it. For CARIAD, this means creating a working environment that is characterized by tolerance and appreciation – and to promote it.

Soon, you can learn more about CARIAD’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and way forward on our blog and as well as on Twitter and LinkedIn.
