In the GM-2 team at CARIAD, we build mobility services in a very multifaceted environment, revolving around the Volkswagen brands. These services are accessed through multiple touchpoints in a variety of car software platforms. We work hard so that our users can stay engaged on their journey through our products and reach their destination quickly and enjoyably. This is why we design products across the entire lifecycle - from the very first contact to, oftentimes, a life-long relationship with our brands.


  • Lead generative research, evaluative research and experience strategy initiatives for a team of 12-15 highly skilled professionals
  • Responsible for ensuring all research and strategy initiatives generate actionable, data-driven customer insights that will inform product roadmaps and design direction
  • Elevate human-centered research to strategically guide the product creation process and consistently empathize with the needs of customers
  • Establish and execute research processes via a variety of methods including literature reviews, user interviews, user surveys, product benchmarking, competitive analysis, heuristic evaluations, design thinking workshops, persona development, journey mapping, observational analysis and usability testing
  • Effectively communicate findings, document recommendations and collaborate with brand teams, product owners, designers, developers and other stakeholders within our agile team
  • Provide innovation and thought leadership on the latest experience trends to elevate our brands
  • Recruit, coach and develop employees on their individual career path 


  • Influential senior leader with a record of managing teams that execute human-centered research and experience strategies for complex digital products
  • Experience developing automotive and/or mobility solutions within an OEM or Tier 1 is beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and passionately communicate on behalf of users to peers, stakeholders and executive leadership
  • High result orientation and hands-on mentality
  • Collaborative approach to resolving conflicts, mediating different points of view and getting things done
  • Fluent business English language skills (both oral and written); German is preferred, and additional languages are always welcome!
